The Upper Portals

The Upper Portals can be reached by two main routes with other side routes as possible alternatives, the most common route the Yahmara creek route starts at the carpark and follows the firetrail uphill along the ridge for about 1km then there'll be a track on the Right heading downhill to the bottom of the valley.

From the bottom follow the track around to the left and in about 2km you'll reach Yahmara creek, to reach the Upper Portals you need to cross the creek and follow it around to the Left for 250mtrs then cross the creek again there you'll find a track leading up and around to the Right a short distance then the track will go back down to the Upper Portals.

Cleared ridge route (the blue track) starts at the carpark and goes uphill along the firetrail and instead of turing off at the 1km mark continue along the ridge for approximatley 4km in total "Do Not" take any of the side roads just follow the ridge line to the end.

From there you can make your  way down to the Upper Portals the track from the end of the fire trail is Not well used and can be difficult to find, good navigational skills are required.
