Mt Barney has many different routes to the summit but Peasants ridge is probaly the most common and to get more of the scenery I preffer going up the South East ridge and comming down Peasants ridge the blue track  counter clockwise.

None of the tracks to the summit are maintained or marked so good navigational skills and a high level of fitness is required, for a first ascent Peasants ridge might be best as it's well used and easy enough to follow and no climbing gear is needed for this route.
